About

Emma Buckmaster

Emma studied printmaking at the Cambridge School of Art. She specialised in etching for her Masters degree and later began to work on ceramics as well.

Her studio is on a medieval, organic farm in Suffolk. The drawings in her book Bumblebee Tales are of the wild flowers in the meadows around the house. Trees also feature in both ceramics and print. A ten year collaboration, created a series of Tree Portraits under the name Buckmaster & French. She is now working on ceramic glazes made from wood ash from different trees.

Both her ceramics and her prints have been exhibited widely and are now held private and public collections. The Tree Portraits have been selected (and sold out) three times at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and two of her racing prints are included in the V&A Print Collection in London.
